TV Shows I liked In 2022

Originally, I was going to post a review of some of the shows that I loathed in 2022. But, my mother always says, if you don’t have anything nice to say, then don’t say anything at all. Either my mom said that or it was a meme I read somewhere on the dark web.

I’m going to start 2023 on a positive note by writing about all of the shows that I watched and loved in 2022.

Star Wars: Andor

This was nothing like other Star Wars shows like the Mandalorian. Andor was slower paced and more thought provoking.

The acting was superb. Diego Luna, Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, and the rest of the cast gave outstanding performances. They brought the characters to life and made them feel real.

Hose of the Dragon

I know a lot of people were disappointed by Game of Thrones’ last season, but I wasn’t disappointed and am probably one of the few fans who weren’t disappointed. Hose of the Dragon, however, was next level awesome.

It did a great job of bringing the story to life. The characters were well-developed, and the plot was faithful to the book.

Matt Smith, Emma D’Arcy were standout performers.

Reacher

I was never bored. The pacing was fast with action in each episode. Everything about Reacher was spot on, from the setting, dialogue, and storyline. The show’s fight scenes were some of the best on television. The choreographers, including Dave Bouza, were able to create fight scenes that were both realistic and exciting.

Alan Ritchson was a great casting choice for Reacher. He was perfectly suited to the role, both physically and in terms of his acting ability. He was able to bring Reacher to life in a way that was both believable and entertaining.

Mayans M.C.

This show has flaws, many flaws, but I love it anyway. I’m so disappointed that next season will be it’s last. Coco’s death hit me harder than I care to admit. I’ve come to love Angel and EZ, despite not liking EZ much in the first two seasons.

The show’s creators, Kurt Sutter and Elgin James, did an amazing job of developing the characters and the plot. The dialogue was witty and clever, and the suspense was palpable.

Mayans is a gritty and realistic portrayal of the Mayans motorcycle club, not shying away from the violence and criminal activity that is a part of the Mayans’ world.

The first two episodes of season four had me literally on the edge of my bed gripping the sheets. I was that excited and enthralled.
