Well, the year is almost over and tis the season to do best and worst lists of 2024. I’m sure you’ve read many of these already so what is one more at this point?
Here’s my list of the worst movies I suffered through in 2024.
Rebel Moon 1 & 2:
This movie was insufferable. Every aspect of it was terrible. The thing that makes me most mad at them was that I had wanted to like Rebel Moon. I was looking forward to it and hoping it would be a cool replacement for Star Wars.
The Good: Staz Nair’s amazing abs. Chief’s lick.
The Bad: It’s so, so boring! Bad pacing, awful & one-dimensional characters, numerous boring info dumps, dumb plot, a ridiculous amount of slow-motion scenes, a laughable villain, and an unlikeable lead character.
Madame Web:
I like Dakota Johnson as an actress, but she hopefully fired her agent after this. Everyone in this film deserved better.
The Good: Not a damn thing.
The Bad: terrible acting, incoherent plot, weak ass villain, awful dialogue, terrible acting.
Borderlands:
It’s supposed to be an “action-comedy film,” yet it lacked humor and the action was lame.
The Good: I love Jamie Lee Curtis and Cate Blanchett as people & actresses. They are grossly miscast in this movie, but I just love seeing these two talented women. Please check out Curtis in Everything Everywhere All at Once and Blanchett in Tár. They are wonderful in those movies.
The Bad: terrible acting, terrible CGI, boring action scenes, nonsensical plot, and cardboard characters.
The Crow 2024:
Seriously, who is this movie made for? It definitely wasn’t for fans of the original film. The Crow 2024 isn’t romantic or interesting and it drove the final stake into all things emo.
The Good: Bill Skarsgård’s gorgeous body. It’s to die for.
The Bad: why was this movie made? The plot makes no sense. Weak villain. It has terrible dialog, poor acting by the other main lead, shallow characters, and a boring, chemistry free romance.

Please keep in mind that Kraven came out after I wrote this list, so I haven’t seen it yet, nor do I plan to see it.
